SoundWave Festival was born in the summer of 2018 when five friends — united by an obsession with live music and a frustration with festivals that felt more corporate than communal — pooled their savings and rented a field outside the city. The first edition was raw, scrappy, and completely electric. Two thousand people showed up. Every single one of them came back the next year, and brought someone new.

What set SoundWave apart from day one was its founding principle: artists first, always. Fair pay, creative freedom, and real hospitality — not just for headliners, but for every emerging act on every stage. That ethos attracted talent that believed in something bigger than a paycheck, and audiences who could feel the difference. By 2021, we had outgrown our original venue. By 2023, we were a cultural institution. Today, SoundWave spans six days, four stages, and genres from indie folk to hard-hitting electronic, hip-hop to alt-rock — a true celebration of music in all its forms.

"

"We never wanted to build a festival. We wanted to build a feeling — the kind you get when a song hits you somewhere deep and you look around and realize ten thousand strangers feel exactly the same thing. That's SoundWave. That's always been the mission."

Who We Are

Our Mission & Values

SoundWave isn't just a festival — it's a movement. Everything we do is guided by four core values that keep us loud, proud, and purposeful.

Music for All

We believe great music has no barriers — our tiered ticketing, accessibility accommodations, and sensory-friendly spaces ensure everyone belongs here. No fan gets left behind at SoundWave.

Inclusive & Accessible

Artist First

We pay every performer fairly — from headliners to emerging acts — and give them full creative freedom over their sets and stage experience. Artists are the heartbeat of SoundWave, and we treat them that way.

Fair Pay & Creative Freedom

Sustainable Sounds

From zero-waste stages to solar-powered production and compostable cups, our eco-friendly operations minimize our footprint without minimizing the fun. We're committed to leaving every venue better than we found it.

Eco-Friendly Operations

What Our Festival Family Says

Real voices from the crowd — the moments that made SoundWave unforgettable.

I stumbled onto the Horizon Stage on night two and heard this indie-electronic duo I'd never come across before — by the end of their set I had every track downloaded. SoundWave has this magical way of turning a random wander into a life-changing discovery.

The production quality blew my mind — the lighting rigs, the synchronized pyrotechnics, the crystal-clear sound across every stage. I've been to a dozen festivals and nothing comes close. You can tell the team obsesses over every single detail to make it feel like a full-scale arena show in the open air.

First Timer

I came solo and left with a group of friends I'm still in a group chat with today. Strangers sharing blankets, trading snacks, cheering together for artists none of us had heard of an hour before. SoundWave creates this incredible sense of belonging that I genuinely didn't expect from a festival this size.

Between sets I wandered through the art village and honestly could have spent the whole weekend just there. The installations were breathtaking — one was an entire forest of sound-reactive sculptures that pulsed with the bass from the main stage. Oh, and the food? Best jerk tacos I've ever had, full stop.
